Martial Arts for Confidence and Body Connection
Martial Arts spaces have a reputation for being loud, macho, and goal oriented. As a teacher, I noticed that this left many children feeling left out or excluded.
I set out to change that.
If your child:
Has a difficult or uncomfortable relationship with their body
Finds it difficult to stay focused or calm
Has lots of energy and needs help channeling it
Tends to question rules or needs clearer structure
Could use support building social skills
Then this is the class for them.
My background is with neurodivergent kids, transgender youth and teens in recovery. It is my experience that these kids have a lot to offer in the right environment, but they are often overlooked by teachers and mentors. My classes prioritize each child’s individual needs and experience, and emphasize safety, consent and self-regulation- while still cultivating confidence, strength and personal growth.
