Yoga, Tai Chi and Courses
Raja Yoga
In these sessions we will practice meditation, pranayama breath work and asana physical postures. These practices, combined with conversations inspired by ancient yoga teachings, serve to fulfill the true purpose of yoga- union. Union of the mind, body and spirit.
Each session is a sacred space set aside to explore the depth of your experience, to feel your emotions fully and to find a sense of peace in the present moment.
Tai Chi
I teach the Tung family lineage of Yang style tai chi. Tung family stands out from other lineages by being more “martial focused.” My classes emphasize wellness and tai chi as a way of life, but this martial focus shows up as using tighter movements than other teachers.
A class consists of warming up with qigong exercises to feel the flow of energy in the body, followed by practicing push hands with other students in a non-competitive setting. This is good for developing skills against a resisting partner. Lastly, we practice the Yang style 42 forms. Each student can expect a solid grasp on the “short half” of the forms within four classes.
Courses
Courses are usually run in 6-week sessions. These are excellent ways to get a more in-depth understanding than your average class. You can expect personal attention in each class to tailor the lessons to your individual needs, I’ll be available for calls and questions outside of class throughout the course, and you’ll walk away with an individual plan to meet your goals.
